The 7-Month Recap

I've been uncertain about how to pick up my blog-writing as it's been so long since my last real post.  I'll try to recap the last 7 months as briefly as possible

September 2011- started a new job at Agency X; rapidly discovered I had been sold a lie (word of rather generic advice- if something seems to good to be true, it probably is)

October 2011- confirmed my transfer to New York (in the office of the London-based agency I started working for) Hating the job even more, BUT have enrolled in a year-long program to become a certified holistic health coach- something I should have done years ago but never realized that I could make a substantial income from something I'm passionate about.

November 2011- moved to New York with my husband. Joyous!! Celebrated Thanksgiving with my family for the first time in 5 years; husband flew back to London to finalize his Green Card

December 2011- started working at the NY office of Agency X; people were nice, work was awful/dull/out of my spectrum of being remotely interested. Reminding myself everyday that I was foolish to have accepted this job! Money DOES NOT = happiness. Repeat: Money DOES NOT = Happiness! Husband officially arrives with Green Card in New York (Happiness!!) Christmas celebrations.

January 2012 - Resigned from Agency X. Feel liberated/scared/ecstatic//hopeful/anxious/confident. Begin searching for a new job and promising myself NOT to settle for anything less than my dreams.

February 2012- Happy Valentine's Day :-) Reminding myself everyday to love ME- trying to accept me for all I am. Trying to reconnect with myself after 2 years of huge disconnect. Trying...Trying...Trying... Meeting up with friends who I haven't seen since I moved- getting inspired and enthused by their lives...so much entrepreneurial spirit, wisdom and hunger for success! I need to surround myself with them now and always...Treating myself to a $180/month gym membership- and USING it everyday! Being good to my body and allowing it to heal and grow physically and emotionally. Reaching out to contacts and interviewing for jobs- ones that excite me and I'm passionate about. Started working freelance for a friend's budding online business...and, last but not least, landed a consulting role in the communications department of a luxury beverage (OK, Veuve Clicquot, if you must know!!)

March 2012- I booked myself a trip to Los Angeles the first weekend in March to attend a conference hosted by the institute I'm getting my holistic health coach certification from. I met some wonderful people (and quite frankly some odd people) and learned a lot- mostly about myself and the things that I need to work on, how I've allowed my past to influence my future and, as important, to never judge a book by it's cover.

I start my new consulting role in the land of yellow labels and bubbles this week, and as we head into daylight savings time, I'm really looking forward to the longer days, warmer weather, large doses of sunshine...and lots of blogging!

Till next time,
Mx
